Chile receives invitation to join “Global Alliance to eradicate the trade of goods used in death penalty and torture”

The Under Secretary of Foreign Affairs, Edgardo Riveros, met this morning with the Ambassador of the European Union, Stella Zervoudaki, and the Argentinian Ambassador, José Octavio Bordón, who presented the official invitation for our country to take part in the launching of the "Global Alliance to eradicate the trade of goods used in death penalty and torture", which will take place the coming September 18th, within the context of the High-Level week of the 72nd Ordinary Period of Sessions of the General Assembly of the United Nations. Said encounter is being summoned by Argentina, Mongolia and the European Union.

The objective of the alliance is to support and encourage the States to embrace policies to control the commerce of said products and exchange legislative and administrative practices.
