President Bachelet appoints new Ambassadors to Finland and Turkey

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Heraldo Muñoz, reported that President Michelle Bachelet appointed two new Chilean Ambassadors abroad, and they have both received the acquiescence of their respective countries of destination. They are Eduardo Gálvez, destined to Finland, and José Manuel Silva, destined to Turkey.

Ambassador Eduardo Gálvez

Ambassador Galvez graduated from the Faculty of Law from Universidad de Chile and from "Andrés Bello" Diplomatic Academy. He also graduated from Oxford's External Service Program and has a Masters in International Relations from London School of Economics.

He has served as Deputy Ambassador in Chilean's mission in front of the UN. He worked in Chile's Embassy in the United States, France and United Kingdom. He was also Director of Multilateral Affairs, Director of Planning and, up until his appointment to Finland, he fulfilled the charge of Assistant General Director in Multilateral and Global Affairs.

Ambassador José Manuel Silva

The newly appointed Ambassador in Turkey studied Political and Administrative Sciences in Universidad de Chile, graduated from "Andrés Bello" Diplomatic Academy and has a Master's degree in Political Sciences and International Relations at the Catholic University of Louvain, Belgium.

Outside our country, he has served Chilean Embassies in Zaire, France, Germany and in the Chilean Mission in front of the European Union. From 2008 and 2014 he was the Chilean Ambassador in Poland. Up until this appointment, he was working as Deputy General Director of Bilateral Affairs.
