Undersecretary of Foreign Affairs Edgardo Riveros received in audience the Ambassador of the Republic of Norway Hege Araldsen on the occasion of the ending of her mission four years after arriving to Chile. In the meeting, both leaders highlighted the high quality of their countries' bilateral relationship and the deepening of that relationship in areas such as gender equality and the protection of children and youth.
During the day, Ambassador Araldsen was awarded the Chilean Order of Merit medal at the Grand Cross level, a distinction that the Chilean government delivers to those who have provided outstanding services to the country.
In addition to acknowledging the extensive work performed by the Norwegian diplomat, Undersecretary Riveros underlined that both countries constitute open economies integrated with global markets. He continued by stating that the ties between the two countries have been strengthened through significant political gestures (primarily through high level visits) and the intensification of trade and investments between them, particularly from Norway to Chile (aquaculture, mining, renewable energies and banking).
