Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Labour celebrate election of Gilbert Houngbo as Director General of the ILO

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare congratulate Mr. Gilbert Houngbo, former Prime Minister of Togo, on his election as the next Director-General of the International Labour Office, at the election held in Geneva today, Friday, March 25, 2022.

The Government of Chile, from the first round of this electoral process, gave its firm support to Mr. Houngbo, and we are pleased to reaffirm to the next Director General our country's commitment to contribute to the advancement of an agenda on Decent Work and Social Justice, fundamental objectives of the International Labor Organization (ILO).
